Turkeys President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan says Ankara is not concerned about any European Union sanctions on the country. Speaking to reporters before an official trip to Azerbaijan, Erdogan also said, there is honest leaders in the bloc that are against the sanctions on Turkey. His comments came after EU foreign ministers said they are considering the sanctions and accused Turkey of failing to help end a row with Greece and Cyprus over the east Mediterranean. Last month, the EU Parliament also urged its members for anti-Turkey measures. Tensions escalated between Ankara and Athens in August after Turkey sent an exploration ship to the waters, also claimed by Greece. Athens slammed the move as illegal and requested the EU to impose sanctions on Ankara.
