All of the universal messengers of God had successors. Similarly, the Prophet of Allah, Muhammad was succeeded by twelve distinguished successors, one after another. The right to ordain imams belongs to God alone, and the Holy Quran makes this point in many verses: The twelve successors of Prophet Muhammad are as follows:
