In this video we show a shader combination that allows you to render procedural waves based on their proximity to objects in 3ds Max. Basically we build a combination of the new Vray Distance Tex with a gradient ramp to get this effect. The calculation is lighting fast and allows tons of other uses as well. To do so, you need any version of 3ds Max and at least Vray 2.0. Enjoy! Peter from xoio
