Manual Focus Focus By Wire Problem - Sony PXW-Z90

Manual focusing seems to be problematic on the Z90. This video shows the issue I am experiencing with static steps of focus rather than a smooth pull from one object to another. I am not sure yet whether this is a problem with my camera or a general issue with the Z90 camera or a general problem with this type of Sony lens / software. It looks terrible on footage and is something I would expect from a mobile phone rather than a camera of this type. Before anyone says anything, I know that this came
