Is the iPhone 6s Plus camera better than iPhone 6 Plus camera?

Is the iPhone 6s Plus camera sensor really any better than the iPhone 6 Plus camera sensor? On paper, the two camera sensors are very similarly speced. Both feature f2.2 apertures, both feature optical image stabilization and both feature autofocus with focus pixels. The iPhone 6s Plus features a 12MP camera sensor with a 1.22 micron pixel size and the iPhone 6 Plus features a 8MP camera sensor with a 1.5 micron pixel size.
