Safe Torque-Off

What is safe torque-off? A fundamental requirement for any industrial machinery is that it is safe. To achieve this, the machine needs a fail-safe device, one that in the event of a failure responds in such a way that no harm will come personnel near the machine. This video explains how safe-torque off (STO), a feature of ABB variable-speed drives, brings a motor’s torque to a complete stop and prevents it from restarting unexpectedly.
