Solar Impulse: the mobile hangar

It's a crucial part of the Solar Impulse kit – a portable, inflatable and fully-equipped hangar that can be used to house the solar-powered aircraft in case of emergency landings, or at airports that cannot support the plane. Assembled in pieces around the aircraft, it can withstand gusts of wind up to 100 kilometres an hour, and takes a crew of six to eight to set it up – including one embedded ABB engineer.
